I wanted to prove my continued existence, albeit on the fringes :-)
BTW, I have recently become aware of a PDF version of ISO 8601, at
<http://www.iso.ch/markete/8601.pdf>.

I'm suggesting that the DC community define its own profile of ISO 8601,
which says something along the lines of:
DC profile of ISO 8601
----------------------
Anything in http://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-datetime is permitted.
So is the use of a "/" separator to denote a range.
When used in metadata, this profile is to be referred to as "ISO8601DC".
