was a question here on a german archaeological newsgroup a few weeks
back; what with the "americanisation" of everything else, would we soon see the
death of "national" archaeology? i asked what the fuck was that? when was the
last time you heard of national physics/geology/chemistry/whatever - is
archaeology a science (or are we at least trying to be) or what?
