My apologies for advertising the course to the group but I thought you
would like to know that due to demand there extra places have been made
available on the "SAFETY AT SCENE" course designed for Paramedic and
Immediate Care Doctors
The only course in the country specifically designed for the needs of
Paramedics & Immediate Care Doctors who may face dangers at the scene of an
incident is now in its third year. Small groups of twelve to sixteen are
given experience in dealing with the hazards of road traffic accidents,
fire, railways, confined spaces and steep terrain. The extensive course
manual, over 150 pages, and now submitted for publication, covers subjects
as diverse as military aircraft crashes, chemical incidents, quicksand, and
riots.
The course is two days of intensely practical training. Every course member
has the opportunity to use cutting and rescue equipment on vehicles, enter
a collapsed structure environment, put out small fires and use ropes
safely.
The course has been valued by doctors providing care to military bases,
those dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder, and personnel dealing
with all aspects of training and safety. The course is held at the
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service International Training Centre, and is
accredited by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care of the Royal College of
Surgeons of Edinburgh and also recognised for General Practice Post
Graduate Education Allowance. The course is exceptional value for money and
demand has led to further courses being made available.
Places are available on courses dated:
Thursday & Friday June 24th & 25th, July 29th & 30th, August 26th &
27th, September 23rd & 24th, and October 21st & 22nd
The cost is £256 and includes lunch and refreshments
Accommodation is available on site for £20.60 per night (dinner, bed and
breakfast)
The course is an ideal time to safely test your own protective clothing,
but this can be provided if necessary.
