I would think that the choice of exam mattered less than a clear commitment
to A&E at an early stage of training, as well as appropriate SHO jobs.
A year of A&E, a year of medicine plus a selection from ortho / paeds /
anaesthetics is about right.
This effectively drives the trainee to part 1 MRCP, but I don't think the
choice of Part 2 exam matters.
