Dear colleagues,
I have received a research grant to work in the Padre Martini library in
Bologna and am looking for housing information. Can anyone suggest a way
for me to locate and reserve a furnished apartment for the month of June?
My research involves the musical settings of Petrarch's Vergine bella. The
Padre Martini library has most of the materials I need (there are about 35
settings from 1426 to 1650)and I would be interested in hearing from anyone
who has ordered microfilms from this library. Information on procedures
and costs would be most helpful.
Another area of interest to me is the work of Giovanni Anguillara. In
particular, I am trying to locate musical settings of any portion of his
translation (in ottava rima) of Ovid's Metamorphoses. Perhaps someone may
know of such settings.
Cordially,
