Good point. Jenny is presently conducting multicentre trial of taping and
VMO activation ex's with University of Melbourne, looking at pain and
function outcomes I believe.

Anecdotally, I find dual channel biofeedback shows marked delay in onset of
VMO compared to VL during lunge or squat in PFJPS patients. Improvements in
symptoms usually only happen when that activation pattern changes, ie can
activate VMO in extension and through inner range flexion. haven't done
recent lit search on EMG findings but this is overdue on my part!

Not very practical to walk around with patient all day manually gliding
patellae, taping does this for you, and once pt learns how, self sufficient!
