I asked for the social inclusion scale because I am involved with the COSP.
We are in the process of developing a common protocol for a research study
which will be done at 8 sites. The goal of the study is to determine the
effect of consumer operated services as an adjunct to traditional mental
health services. The study will also do a detailed cost analysis.
We are in the first year of a four year study funded by the US Center for
Mental Health Services. For more information about COSP, see the Missouri
Institute of Mental Health Program in Consumer Studies and Training web site:

There is a low volume announcement list you can join if you would like to
be informed regarding the project. You can sign up on the front page of
the site.
The PI for the study is Jean Campbell, PhD, best known perhaps for the
ground breaking Well Being study in California in the late 1980s. Jean is
a consumer with long movement roots. Consumers are PIs for 3 of the 8
study sites and each site (and the project itself) has a very involved
Consumer Advisory Panel. The RFA identified the development of effective
working relationships between consumers and researchers as one of the goals
of the project.
