First, USMARC *is* metadata. We need to be really clear about this.
Metadata can be created according to AACR2 and encoded in a MARC record,
and/or created according to other semantic and structural rules and
encoded in any number of other ways, but it's all metadata.
Second, Ray, how about the 040 $b?
