Hi,
I am in the process of implementing a metadata system using the
Dublin Core for a client who runs a Business Information Website.
Within this website they have several different types of information, which
fall into two categories: Internal information and External websites.
I've setup a database for the metadata for these and want to just
run this by you all for any comments you may have. My main problem has just
been one of tying down the usage of certain elements and how authorative
subelements are, particularly since for many elements (eg Type) there are many
documents covering the subject in different manners.
Heres a section of metadata for an external URL (apologies
for the formatting this is a dump of a web page).

Any comments you have on the above are greatfully received. My main
stumbling points have been which subcategories are going to make
it into use (eg Date.DataGathered or Date.DataGathering, Creator.Email etc)
and the whether I'm okay in using the structuralist form of Type (although
these subcategories seem to be much in debate). In summary, how much of what
I've done is a bit dodgy and may be replaced as things are firmed up in the
future?
One other point is that down the line this metadata will be exposed
as RDF. Is there anything in the above structure which could be a problem
when that stage is reached.
Thanks for your time.
-Mark
