A chiropractor publicly claiming to "cure" dyslexia by manual means is
certainly exposing his or herself to potential legal complications in my
opinion.
In regards to another response addressing double crush and carpal tunnel
syndrome, in my limited clinical experience I have had several patients with
hand and wrist pain and /or paresthesia who had been previously diagnosed by
other physicians as having carpal tunnel syndrome. The only one that actually
had a median nerve distribution of symptoms turned out to have pronator teres
median nerve compression which was successfully treated with myofascial work.
The others all had an ulnar nerve distribution of symptoms and included a
diabetic polyneuropathy, an extensor carpi ulnaris tendinitis, and a cubital
tunnel syndrome which was easily relieved with an adjustment to the proximal
ulna. Another differential to consider would be thoracic outlet syndrome,
particularly if there is a C8 distribution of symptoms.
