Here is a recent reference which serves to reinforce information that smoking
can delay wound healing and recovery after trauma. It probably would not be
too much of an extrapolation to expect that smoking might also be expected to
inhibit one's recovery after strenuous exercise - has anyone else come across
literature to that effect? Not only would this militate against smoking
personally, but it would also make one a lot more wary about spending much
time in places where there is second-hand smoke from others, especially if one
is injured.
