I am currently writing an entry entitled
"Protestant Monasticism: Waldensian" for
the _Encyclopedia of Monasticism_, to be
published next year. I am trying to fnd
out the fate of Waldensian monasticism
after the Protestant Reformation and if
in fact the Waldensian Church today
contains monks and/or nuns or if, in the
spirit of the Reformation, a poor and
celibate clergy no longer exists within
the church.
At the suggestion of a representative of
the American Waldensian Society I
e-mailed two members of the Waldensian
Faculty of Theology, located in Rome. I
have not received a reply and thought
that perhaps someone on the list might
have information.
Thank you.
