WEB DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Job Opportunity in the Development of a Web-Based Online Tutorial on
the use of Information Resources.
UMIST Library requires a graduate to take a major role in the
development of a Web based online tutorial on the identification,
evaluation and use of information resources and tools. This discrete
project will result in the production of a Web based, information
skills training package in modular form.
The work will build on the existing information skills training
programme with the transference of our printed Library Skills
Workbooks to the Web and the creation of a supporting tutorial
framework covering both traditional and electronic resources.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of Web authoring
techniques, especially in an interactive environment and a library
qualification or extensive experience in an information unit will be
desirable
The post is available from April 1999. An appointment will be made on
a fixed-term contract for 6 months within the scale stlg15,735 -
stlg17,570 (Senior Library Officer Grade 1), depending on
qualifications and experience. Although envisaged as a full-time
post, applications will be considered from applicants interested in
part-time employment.
