Hi -
Again I learn the hard way. Check on info even from reliable sources.
Sorry all, Howie B.
If you look at http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jesus-hoax.html,
you will see this "virus" refuted as a hoax, by a reputable source. (I
searched for "It takes guts to say 'Jesus'" plus "hoax" on the Web; it was
one hop from there.)
It's important to check these things out before forwarding them. In
general,
- No virus to date can do any harm by your opening an email. A virus
could
be attached to a file that's attached to the email, it's true, but you
have
to open the file for any harm to be done.
- I've never gotten a chain-mail notification of a virus that was *not* a
hoax.
- Lots of email flooding the internet, carrying messages about a false
virus, themselves become the "virus!"
regards,
Rick
