Hello all.
Here is a brief report on progress within the Coverage working group during
March.
If anyone is interested in the individual postings, or in joining the group,
visit http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/dc-coverage/ for instructions.
Back at the end of February, the working group published their proposed
re-definition of the element [1], and invited comments.
These comments were mainly concerned with the inclusion of the concept of
'audience' within the Coverage element, and with the argument over whether
or not we should recommend use of numeric identifiers such as latitudes and
longitudes.
The group is now reviewing the comments we received, and hopes to submit a
finalised proposal to the Advisory Committees within the next week - 10
days.
We are also working to gather examples of existing use of subelements for
the Coverage element. Anyone with examples in their own implementations of
Dublin Core is invited to submit them to the group, or to send them to me
for passing on.
Another report like this will appear at the end of April.
Paul
