CONFERENCE TITLE: Understanding Teacher Supply and Geography
WHERE IS IT? RGS-IBG, I Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AR
WHEN IS IT? Wednesday 21 April 1999
WHAT TIME? 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
WHAT ISSUES WILL IT INCLUDE? The last few years have seen a dramatic
decrease in the number of applications to initial teacher training (ITT) in
geography. The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and the Teacher
Training Agency have convened this conference to examine the possible causes
for this downturn and to identify potential solutions that could be taken by
all geographers in all fields of education to address this decline. This is
a participatory conference. There will be ample time for imput from
delegates, and workshop sessions.
