CALL FOR PAPERS
*** Geographies of Fear/Violence ***
Proposals for papers are invited for a day long session at RGS-IBG 2000 at
Sussex University (4-7 January 2000) on Geographies of Fear/Violence. The
session is co-organised by the Social and Cultural Geography Research Group
and
the Political Geography Research group of the RGS-IBG, and is being
supported by the ESRC Violence Research Programme.
Papers may address the following possible themes:
* Geopolitical Violence/Terrorality and Borders/Ethno-National Violence
* Geographies of Criminal/'Deviant' Fear and Violence
* Geographies of Racist Fear and Violence
* Geographies of Gendered Fear and Violence
* Geographies of Homophobic Fear and Violence
* Geographies of Ableist Fear and Violence
* Geographies of Childhood Fear and Violence
* Resistance, Transgression and Violence
* Geographies of Policing, Surveillance and Defensible Space
* Theoretical/Methodological approaches to Geographies of Fear and Violence
