This is a hobby horse of mine - it applies to A+E docs, GPs and infact
probably the majority of us.
The out-of-hours thing is complete nonsense. The country is getting
healthcare on the cheap
....on the cheap for the taxpayer - but at the cost of doctors
lives/time/divorces/suicides etc
Now - you the issue extends to not only being paid a pittance whilst
having no choice (except changing profession) but to being told that on-
call is not _at work_.
How many of us want to look back from the age of 60 and realise that of
the last 30 years we have been working 24 hours a day for 15 of them.
Is this what we owe our selves and our families?
We pay with our lives....
....and our negotiators get knighthoods.....
Cheers all
