Thanks Rowley - that is a real one.
Also just to add - I was visitted by a virus last night - a Word97 Macro
virus called Marker (not Mark.a or Mark.b) - it was not whacked by the
Jan release of Doc Solomons (next release for 3monthly upgrade package
is due now) - but it is possible to download v7.93 from the doc sols
website and this does whack it.
I am very very careful re viruses (this was my first one) - and I was
visited by this virus (well sort of - i have macros in Word turned off
by default and so although I read the file I was not infected - another
recipient of the same file alerted me - so I then activated the virus
and tried whacking it with Doc Sol and found that I couldnt until I
downloaded the update) - and it was from a known and trusted source.
Sorry - a bit off topic for this list - but in all our interests...
A few hints - leave macros turned off in Word - can set this through
Tools|Options|General and check the Macro Virus Protection box - the
only protection this gives you is to ask if you want to be asked before
enabling macros when you open a document.
If you run doc sol Winguard (little soldier on task bar) then goto
Configure and check that it has the option selected to Scan on Write -
this means it scans files as soon as they are written to your disk.
There will no doubt be similar options in other anti-virus products.
