CTI Mathematics, February 1999
The February issue of Maths&Stats was published and distributed. Included in this issue is an article on Randomly
generated motivation from Maths and Stats Tests, and reviews of Modellus 1.0, ODE Architect, and StudyWorks!
for Mathematics.
Pam and Greig attended a course on database-driven Web sites, and Greig is now developing our software database as
a searchable resource guide with the aim of publishing it on the CTI Mathematics Web site before Easter.
As a member of the programme committee for the International Conference on Technology in Mathematics Teaching
Pam worked on the preparation for its August conference in Plymouth. She also continued to support a group of
academics from Midland universities who are working together on various teaching and learning issues relating to
transition mathematics.
A response was sent to the C&IT study being carried out by the funding bodies for further and higher education.
Thanks are due to John Appleby and Stephen Hibberd for their support in preparing this response.
A workshop was held at Brunel University on behalf of the Mathwise User Group. A total of 25 participants from 11
different universities attended, and the programme included a range of activities, including a discussion forum, four
main talks and a hands-on session.
