The Department of Biological Sciences, University of Alberta, has a digital
imaging facility and an industrial intern, who is learning to do all the
arcane stuff associated with multimedia presentations. As part of his work,
he digitized and animated the flow patterns around a black fly larva.
Although apparently rather simple in nature, it required him to make the
labral fans flick open and closed, quite remarkable in that he began with a
digitized image of a drawing of the larva. The animation can be viewed on
the WWW at the URL

To view the various flow paths, click on the button on the right-hand side
of the screen.
Enjoy,
Doug Craig.
