Every institution is exploring alternative ways of meeting the demands
of an expanding and varied student population. From Open and Distance
Learning supported by C&IT to Virtual Learning Environments - technology
can help to support students studying part-time, at a distance and on
work placement. This event brings together practitioners who have
successfully used C&IT to widen access, improve choice and extend the
learning experiences of non-traditional students. A full programme is
outlined below.
Who should attend

Staff in higher education who are developing open and distance learning
materials, investigating virtual learning environments, or who are
responsible for developing and implementing institutional policy in this
area.
Staff from Scottish Higher Education Institutions funded by SHEFC are
invited to attend free of charge. Staff from other Institutions should
contact us for details of availability and cost.
