A good point Mairian.
I was interested to hear a representative of the Catholic church on
Radio 4 this morning denouncing Glen Hoddle's bizarre views, only to
hear him then define disabled people as 'God's special friends' (a
translation from the Gaelic, he said). Can any Irish friends cast
light on the translation for me? How have Gaelic speakers accepted or
redefined that construction?
Best Wishes
