report on the environmental,labour, and social performance of 
Canadian corporations. MJRA's Canadian Social Investment Database 
is used primarily by institutional investors that require social and 
environmental analysis of Canadian equities to manage client 
accounts. In addition to undertaking social research and analysis, 
MJRA serves as a consultant to help institutions develop and 
implement investment criteria that ensure a balance between 
social concerns and the investment manager's ability to manage 
a diversified portfolio.

The Toronto Atmospheric Fund (TAF) wishes to hire an Executive
Director. TAF was established in 1992 with an endowment of $23 
million to help the City of Toronto meet its goal of reducing greenhouse 
gas emissions by 20% by 2005. TAF provides loans and grants to City

PUBLIC HEALTH TOXICOLOGIST/ASSESSOR
IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE

The Bureau of Environmental Health and Safety, Division of Health, 
Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, in Bouise, Idaho, is 
recruiting for a Public Health Toxicologist/Assessor to conduct 
public health assessments, including toxicological investigations 
and related activities, to determine actual or potential human health 
risks from exposure to toxic substances in the environment or 
workplace. Desirable qualifications include a Master's degree 
in environmental health, environmental epidemiology, toxicology, 
biochemistry, pharmacology, or a closely related field; experience 
in conducting public health assessments and investigations, 
including toxicological investigations. The person should have 
familiarity with the ATSDR public health assessment process is a 
plus, and experience in writing public health assessment reports and

E.F. SCHUMACHER LIBRARY NEEDS ECO LIBRARIAN
IN MASSACHUSETTS

The E.F. Schumacher Society seeks to hire a part time Director of its 
library in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. The 8,000 volume collection 
has publications on the issues of ecological economics, regional 
development, decentralism, appropriate technology, scale, mutual aid, 
land use and ownership, local currencies, micro-lending, sustainable 
development, regional self-help initiatives, worker ownership, and 
community support of agriculture.  It includes the 3,000 volume 
personal library of the economist Fritz Schumacher, author of the 
book "Small Is Beautiful - Economics as if People Mattered", as 
well as unpublished papers and letters of archival quality.  The collection 
is computer-indexed and may be searched over the Schumacher Society's 
web site. The successful candidate will have a Masters in Library Science 
from accredited ALA institution, and should have previous experience in 
managing a small library.  Require some background in web site construction 
and maintenance. The work will be 24 hours per week, within the period of 
Monday through Friday 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, $15 per hour plus an additional

BANGLADESH ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION INSITUTE
WANTS AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Bangladesh institute for Environmental and Geographic Information 
Service EGIS wishes to hire an Executive Director. It is a Center of 
Excellence performing environmental studies, based on an advanced 
capacity in remote sensing and GIS techniques, to the public and private 
sectors in Bangladesh. It employs an experienced team of 35 Bangladesh 
professionals, including such disciplines as biophysical, socioeconomic and 
computer sciences. Activities of EGIS are: consulting; research; information 
and database management; and training. EGIS is a project under the Ministry 
of Water Resources with funding from the Government of The Netherlands. 
Staff started to work together in the early 1990's in the environmental and 
GIS studies under the Flood Action Plan. The Bangladesh and Netherlands 
Governments are firmly committed that EGIS should become an independent 
organization in 1999, as a public trust, representing government, commercial 
and scientific sectors. The Executive Director (preferably between 45 an 55 
years old) will be responsible to the board of Trustees. His/her main tasks are:
to provide clear scientific and management leadership to the organization;
to represent the institute commercially and scientifically; and to strengthen 
relationships with government and donor agencies, universities, NGOs and 
the private sector. Candidates for above positions should be Bangladeshi 
nationals of high professional standards, and with a background and 
experience in water resources and environment and / or applications of 
GIS and RS. Selection criteria include: professional capability; management 
capability and leadership quality; entrepreneurship;  experience to work in 
multi-disciplinary teams and in an international context; and familiarity with
