British HCI Group one-day meeting

Call for papers:
As well as these three guest speakers there will be a number of short
position papers. If you would like to present such a paper at the meeting
please submit an abstracts (maximum 300-400 words, plain text email) with
your full contact details NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 26TH, 1999.

Aims of meeting:
What part does emotion play in human cognition and communication? How may
it enhance human-computer interaction in the future? The main purpose of
the meeting is to gather together researchers interested in these and
related questions to discuss a research agenda. The meeting will allow the
sharing of perspectives by speakers at the forefront of different relevant
research areas.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
HCI - the role of emotion in interface design, enhancing intelligent agents
with emotion;
Artificial Intelligence - the problems of endowing machines with emotional
sensitivity;
Cognitive Science - insights from the study of human emotion in
communication and decision making.

The cost:
