The new versions of the palm connected organisers have been released. There
is also a review of the new Palm V in this months PC magazine (a very
stylish aluminium piece of kit for the style conscious !)

This release has solved one problem for me i.e. with all the talk about the
wireless communications in the Palm VII I was wondering what happened to IV,
V, VI !

InSync Online -- Announcing the New Palm V(TM) and Palm IIIx(TM) Connected
Organizers

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Craig,
The Palm Computing(R); product family is growing! Palm Computing announced
that the Palm V(TM) and Palm IIIx(TM) connected organizers are now
available. And they have all the features you've come to expect from
your Palm III organizer--plus a great deal more.
For starters, both the Palm V and Palm IIIx connected organizers have
advanced LCD screens for razor-sharp clarity and improved viewing in dim
room light and bright sunlight. They also come with new seamless links
to Microsoft Outlook.  But they'll work with the Palm(TM) desktop or other
popular PIMs you already may be using as well. In fact, because they're
based on the Palm Computing platform, the Palm V and Palm IIIx connected
organizers should run all your existing third party add-on applications.
As for design, you might say the Palm V connected organizer is the most
sophisticated member of the Palm Computing family. Half as thin as your
Palm III organizer and weighing in at just four ounces,
it sports a sophisticated wrap-around aluminum case and runs on a long
life rechargeable lithium ion-battery. In addition, the Palm V organizer
boasts an elegant HotSync(R) cradle that recharges the lithium-ion battery.
You can choose from an exciting line of accessories including a new
33.6 Kbps modem with optional cable for connection to wireless GSM phones;
an attractive metal hard-cover case; a form-fitting, dual-action stylus;
and an assortment of sophisticated leather covers and cases.
Perfect for the power user and corporate enterprise, the Palm IIIx
organizer design is built for maximum flexibility, expansion and
configuration. It has an open connector slot for add-on hardware solutions
and twice the storage of your Palm III organizer.  With 4 MB of memory,
the Palm IIIx organizer is a real data powerhouse. You can store
approximately 12000 addresses, 5 years' worth of appointments, 3000 memos,
3000 to-do's, lots of e-mail, database information and lots of applications!
And as a member of the Palm III(TM) series of connected organizers,
the Palm IIIx organizer takes advantage of the same accessories and
peripherals
available for its predecessor.
