you might adivise your colleague to subscribe to the UTSG (universities
Transport Studies group) list, which is not specifically transport
geography, but transport planning/technology/policy. It has some 700
memebers and on average 50 messages per month. You can find a link to the
list website (with all details on joining) in GEOSOURCE, the web directory
for geography at:
http://bcu.library.uu.nl/jeroen.htm
The link is in category XI.3.b which lists 37 geographically relevant
discussion lists.
