Department of Geography, University of Aberdeen which may
be of interest.

University of Aberdeen
Department of Geography
Aberdeen is superbly located for geographical research.
It offers easy access to a wide range of physical and
socio-economic environments, and there are excellent
opportunities for collaborative and inter-disciplinary
research in both pure and applied fields. The Department of
Geography enjoys buoyant undergraduate and postgraduate
student numbers, and a vigorous research culture. It was
graded ‘excellent’ at the last TQA, and 3A at the last RAE.
These posts are intended to strengthen research
performance, and to contribute to the further development
of teaching programmes.
Chair in Physical Geography
Applications are invited for this new post, which
is intended to strengthen and enhance the Department’s
research in this field. Candidates should have an
outstanding record of research performance at the
international level, and the successful applicant would be
expected to provide academic leadership in research and
teaching in physical geography. Applications are sought
from persons specialising in any branch of the discipline
but those from specialists in either Quaternary and Glacial
Geomorphology or Hydrology will be especially welcomed.

Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Geography
Applications are invited for this new post, which may
be filled at the SL or L level. Applicants should have an
excellent record of success in pure and/or applied
research, and those with interests in the fields of
Environmental Policy, Management and Mapping or Economic
and Social Change in Advanced Societies are especially
welcome to apply. The appointee can expect to be
involved in course development, teaching and supervision at
the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
