If you go on the web I'm sure there's a Cagney and Lacey fan club
who'll have videos you could buy.....or get an American colleague to
video it for you...there's always re-runs on American tv.
Alternatively, you could use the begining of a whole host of movies
set in NYC...eg Tom Wolff's Bonfire of the Vanities, etc
The intro to Woody Allen's Manhattan (classical music and skyline
scenes) and Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing (rap music and Brooklyn
derelict doorways)....are a good comparison into how sound/music
informs how we identify with the city...here NYC.
