Hi everyone

It's about that time when we start hassling for contributions to
Notework again ... the deadline for the Easter issue is 15th MARCH
1999 ... and here's that boring blurb about what you could do for us
one more time ...

Notework - call for contributions

Notework is, for want of a better description, the SCOS newsletter.
More importantly, it appears approximately twice a year and is
intended as one forum for SCOS members to communicate with each other
outside of the annual conference itself, to work in tandem with our
home page, our e-mail discussion list, our Net chat room etc ...

We welcome contributions from anyone who is associated with SCOS, and
suggest some ideas as follows:

* Academic pieces which are at the `working paper' stage, or which
might not be publishable in `conventional' journals;

* Opinion pieces on issues of interest to SCOS members;

* Tales from recent events, such as conferences or workshops, which
might appeal to the network;

* Reviews of recent books or journal papers, or just suggestions
about what is new and interesting, publication-wise, in the field of
organizing;

* Artwork, photographs, cartoons, poetry etc.;

* Things to make us all laugh!;

* News about upcoming events like conferences or new publications;

* News of general interest from your corner of the world.

The above is by no means an exhaustive list ... it's just intended to
provide some ideas for what might be included in Notework. We are
very happy to comment on suggestions, read drafts etc., and we will
take both long and short pieces, although if they are very long we
might have to edit, if only for reasons of practicality and
space!

Notework goes to all SCOS members in hard copy format, and will also
be available in on line format on the home page (we've almost cracked
the technology now ... but have given up on the discussion list
distribution - remember last time??!!). Our new Internet address, by
the way, is http://www.scos.org for those of you who have visited
our last site and found it defunct.

Our next issue is due to come out as soon as possible after Easter
and prior to the Taking Liberties Conference in July... and our
deadline is the 15th March. We really would like to hear from you ...
and we won't bother with the usual threats of what will be in the
next issue if we don't (but do be warned that Jo is writing a paper
on Ally McBeal at the moment ... )

In any case, this is your forum so please do use it ... and if you
*are* interested in submitting something for Notework, please contact
either:

Now I'll sit back and expect a deluge ...

By the way, if anyone hasn't yet received a copy of the
November Notework and would like one, please let me know. We are in
the process of sorting out our distribution list so there's no time
like the present to get yourself added to it

Cheers - and belated good wishes for the New Year.

Jo
