Hi, I am a Japanese researcher, using Atlas-ti.
Atlas-ti has completely no problems when I analyze Japanese
transcripts with Japanese and Chinese characters.
However, you probably need an additional package of software, Emigrant32.
It is free, and you can download from
http://www.vector.co.jp/vpack/browse/software/win95/util/sn050644.html
Sorry, this is a page in Japanese.
Without this, probably, you cannot use Japanese characters as
names of codes and quotes in the above bar. However, if you use
English words as code names, you have less difficulties in
using Atlas-ti while the small display of quotes has a little problems.
With Emigrant32, I used NUD*IST in Japanese language.
This combination can deal with Japanese transcripts, but it has
more problems than Atlas-ti, because code names are unable to
be Japanese words as far as I know.
I hope this will help you.
