Thank you so much for the narrative on your cimematic
experiences. I am not researching this however I am glad to be
getting some responses. I love the way you have your own seat and
everything...just wonderful. Leisure has such to offer disability
studies. It is rare that we think about it. Have a look at Simone
Fullager (second author can't remember name) article in Disability
Studies Journal, the English one toward the end of last year...about
narratives and the construction of self - people with intellectual
disabilities..This is just an example of applied theory.
I particularly like using Mead's theory of the self along with
Foucault's theory of resistance to both look at construction and
reconstruction of identity with leisure being the space for resistance,
particicularly for people whose identity has been at least, partially constructed
by negative attitudes of the generalised other.
