Subject: Banking & Finance in Fiction through the ages
From: Roy Davies <[log in to unmask]>

If, as Shakespeare said in Hamlet, the function of art is
to "hold a mirror up to nature" then a web site I have
recently developed may be of interest to this list. It
is about banking and finance in fiction from the classics
of Dickens, Thackeray and Zola to modern financial thrillers.
It also includes discussions of finance in other genres
including legal and historical and spy fiction, mystery,
and science fiction. There are also some notes on real
financial scandals, from tulip mania onwards, that provided
inspiration for works of fiction.
