The Planning Service require two persons for 5-6 weeks
Job Description:
The Council is undertaking a Housing Capacity Study and a land use
survey for the National land-use database (NLUD).
2 people are required to survey sites/parcels of land on a street by
street basis working from the boroughs main town centres. The
information collected on a standard pro-forma will then be entered by
the 2 people onto a Geographic Information System -GIS-(GGP) which
will capture the information into a database.
After the above work is completed, we would also ask them to undertake
pedestrian flowcounts surveys in Brent's town centres (in March 1999).
Essential requirements:
Prepared to work out-of-doors
Computer literate
Desirable Requirements:
Ability/experience of GIS system
Knowledge of land-use planning or site identification or
development/design skills
Would suit:
Planner, surveyor, architect, geographer, social scientist etc.
Sites within the borough are accessible by public transport & own
transport is not required. Public transport fares/mileage allowances
will be paid.
Hourly rate: £7.00 per hour
Applicant to work at least 35 hours per week-extra hours will be paid
at same hourly rate

NW London: Wembley, Kilburn, Willesden, Harlesden, Kingsbury etc.
