Although you have to pay for it, FrontPage 98 has such a feature.
Unfortunately it isn't idiot proof, as there may be files that are linked
from other webservers/sites, or files that have to be accessed by CGI/ASP
scripts etc. This will no doubt be a problem with using any other tool that
does a similar job.
The approach we have used at Essex when cleaning up the web site is to move
anything that could be considered obsolete into a temporary folder, and if
anyone complains, move it back! One other thing you could do is to
'encourage' your web publishers to remove their old content (lots of people
seem to like to leave their old site on the web server when they go live
with a new redesign).
