Dear Brian and List Members,
I found the question of what were the main problems facing web mangers very
interesting from my perspective.
So far (I think) only Nick Stroud has mentioned copyright and other legal
issues such as defamation ... and that was at the bottom of his list. He
also mentions an editorial board, which might have a role to play in
dealing with such issues.
Is copyright and the legal field unimportant? unimportant (relatively
speaking) to web managers? or is it that they feel it should not be their
responsibility??? Any comments welcome. (I won't be offended if the
consensus is copyright is totally unimportant!)
For what it is worth I am trying to draft Guidelines on Electronic
Copyright and related issues for Strathclyde, with some difficulty. I would
second Nick Strouds call for National Guidelines. If anyone has any advice
on this, it will be gratefully received.
Regards
Ralph Weedon
