Applicants are invited for a post of Library Information Technology Manager in the Cairns Library
The Cairns Library is a busy health care library with a main base at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital, The John Radcliffe and branch libraries at The Radcliffe Infirmary and The Churchill. It is the library of the Faculty of Clinical Medicine and also serves the School of Health Care, Oxford Brookes University and the NHS in the locality. It is also a central resource for the NHS regional library network.
The Cairns Library seeks to appoint a person to manage and support all computerised technical aspects of the information service. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse IT environment and ideally will demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving and the ability to adapt and acquire new skills. Applicants should also have experience of using, supporting and installing a diverse range of software packages in a wide range of contexts. Some knowledge of Internet applications and networking hardware and software is necessary.
The postholder will work in close collaboration with the Oxford University Information Management Service based at the John Radcliffe.
This post will also provide the opportunity to practise and develop management skills as a member of the Senior Management Team and will participate in line management and supervision of staff.
