Just a quick aside regarding the 'version n and above' slogan. When
people say 'requires a v4 and above' browser, there is an implicit
assumption that facilities in version n of the browser application will
survive in subsequent versions in some form. This patently isn't so:
examples include Netscape's dumping of their proprietary DOM in
navigator 5. Even if the facility concerned is 'standards based' I see
no guarantee that we can assume it'll stick around in subsequent
versions. This makes 'version n and above' a hostage to fortune; what
you're really saying is 'some browser version between n and whenver this
facility gets obsoleted and forgotten'. Since we don't know when these
facilities will drop from favour, this is a good argument for caution
and backwards compatibility...
