I don't believe any thought was given to non-Frames users. The design
spec was for IE4 and up only (allowing Netscape 4 at a push).

That is a navigation menu in javascript. And yes, one has to use a
password 'guest' even to see the free-for-all stuff.

Nothing whatever. That sort of material is easily visible to anyone
on the Corporate website (the one I run) at http://www.twi.co.uk
It is just a function of the way the JoinIT site works that
everything needs the user to have logged in somehow, even if just as
'guest'

Of course I won't! I didn't design JoinIT and have frequently and
loudly moaned about the way it works etc. What you say just backs me
up ;-)
