This is a reminder that the initial closing date of the Institutional Web Manager's workshop to be held at Goldsmith College,
London on 7-9 September is tomorrow (Friday 6 August). After that date we will continue to accept bookings, but will remove the
limit of one person per institution from institutions inside the M25.
We now have 99 bookings, including many regular contributors to the website-info-mgt list. The delegates include 84 from
Universities and Colleges, 6 from JISC services, with 9 from other related communities (CSU, British Council, Research Councils,
etc.)
The workshop programme has now been finalised, and the timetable will be made available on the workshop website shortly.
As well as a range of speakers, there will also be seven parallel sessions in which a number of important areas can be discussed
in more depth. The parallel sessions will cover Design, Access and Accessibility, Metadata (including the HE Mall), Web Site
Navigation, Intranets and Extranets, Web Tools, Legal Issues and Career Development for Web Editors.
On Thursday, 9 September an accompanying exhibition will take place. This will include a number of commercial vendors (who will
be demonstrating a variety of web tools, such as content management systems, authoring tools, XML editors, etc) together with
demonstrations and displays of web services, applications and approaches taken within the HE community, including JISC services,
JTAP projects and universities.
Note that the exhibition will be open until 3.30, and will be open to the public from 11.30.
In the afternoon of Thursday 9 September, there will also be a .gamut meeting from web managers within London. This will also
be open to delegates from outside the London area, and will aim to encourage the establishment of other regional groups and
foster links between regional groups.
Further information is available at the workshop web site at <http://warriormac.gold.ac.uk/webconf/>.
See you in September
