Hi Majella
You may find Brett Burridge's article on "The Microsoft Site Server
Search Facility" in Ariadne (see http://www.ariadne.ac.uk/issue19/nt/) of
interest. This article "examines the use of Microsoft's Site Server 3.0 to
provide a sophisticated web based search solution for your institution."
(the indexer runs on NT but it can index websites on other platforms).
To save Tony Grant having to respond, Bill Gates is the spawn of the
devil and buying SiteServer (for about 200 academic price) will make him
even richer.
