Genuine question: What's wrong with using the Back button?
I find it the single most useful Web navigation tool, and any pages
or sites that disable it (eg by spawning an unwanted new window)
are the single most irritating feature of the Web.
Individual site navigation tools should, IMHO, add to this not
attempt to replace it.
