PhD Research Studentship at Imperial College of Science, Technology and
Medicine, London/UK
INVERSE TRANSIENT ANALYSIS IN PIPE NETWORKS
The overall objective of this EPSRC funded project is to develop an
integrated approach to continuous leakage detection and quantification
in water supply systems. This will involve algorithms for transient
analysis, inverse calculations and evolution techniques.
The student will pursue the development of a new numerical modelling
approach dealing with inverse transient analysis, as well as performing
an experimental laboratory programme in association with a water
company.
Candidates should have a good honours degree in Mathematics, Physics,
Engineering or Computer Science, preferably with experience in Fluid
Mechanics or Hydraulics.
The studentship will commence as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
Applications, which should include a CV and the names of two academic
referees, should be sent to: Prof. Cedo Maksimovic, Department of
Civil and Environmental Engineering, Imperial College, London SW7 2BU;
United Kingdom.
