Mathwise User Group Workshop, University of Paisley, Thursday  
13 May 1999 

This is the second Mathwise User Group workshop to be run by  
the new MWUG committee. The day will include a general  
introduction to Mathwise and the MWUG and talks by various  
authors and users. There will also be an opportunity for delegates  
to participate in a hands-on session and contribute to a discussion  
on
the future development of the group.  

Programme (provisional) 

1030-1100  Arrival, registration and coffee 

1100-1120  Introduction to Mathwise and the User Group (Neil  
Pitcher and Greig Fratus) 

1120-1150  "Mathwise in Action - Resources from the SUMSMAN  
Project" - Prof. Cliff Beevers (Heriot-Watt University) 

1150-1220  "Advantages of Using Mathwise Assessment" - Ann  
Evans (Napier University) 

1220-1250  "Complex Analysis Using Mathwise" - Dr. John  
O'Connor (University of St. Andrews) 

1300-1400  Lunch and software display 

1400-1430  "Issues from a Large-Scale Mathwise Evaluation" - Dr.  
Judy Goldfinch (Napier University) 

1430-1530  Open forum discussion over tea 

1530 Close 

The day will take place at the Paisley campus, which is only 2  
miles from Glasgow airport. Full travelling instructions and a

The fee for the workshop, including lunch, is £45 for non Mathwise  
User Group members (this includes automatic membership of 
the group) and £15 for Mathwise User Group members. Those  
wishing to attend should inform MWUG as soon as possible.
