I'm afriad so!
The results section uses both the Graphics and the Interactive window.
Without the stuff in the Interactive window the Graphics stuff will fail
(objects in the Interactive window are used to "tie" the results section
together). So, when the Interactive window is cleared, the Graphics stuff
is cleared too, as a precaution. ...and the Defaults use the the
Interactive window for input.
...unless you use "Command line mode" to change the defaults. Type 'global
CMDLINE, CMDLINE=1' before pressing the defaults button, and you can change
the print defaults in the Matlab command window. 'global CMDLINE,
CMDLINE=0' will set back GUI input.
The print defaults are saved in the global variable PRINTSTR, so if you
know what you want to set it to, you could change it directly without going
through the defaults interface.
I suppose we could write a neater defaults package, but there's too much
else to do...
