The Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin,
led by Dr. Richard J. Davidson, is currently looking for a full-time
research specialist:
****MINIMUM NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE*****
At least 1 year's experience with psychological and/or biological research
in a laboratory setting. Knowledge of neuroanatomy necessary, as well as
knowledge of IBM compatible, UNIX, and/or VAX computer systems.
****PRINCIPAL DUTIES*****
Conduct multi-session neuroimaging studies in depressed and normal adult
populations, coordinating with technical and clinical staff as well as
students. Conduct experimental sessions in which functional magnetic
resonance imaging (fMRI), positron emission tomography (FDG-PET), and
electroencephalography (EEG) data are obtained. Includes subject
recruitment & scheduling, application of sensors, working with blood, and
supervision of student help. Perform data reduction, coregistration of
structural MRI to fMRI and PET scans, and anatomical localization on
structural MRI data. Also includes data bases maintenance and statistical
analyses of fMRI, PET, and EEG data. Knowledge of SPM and brain anatomy
helpful.
