The PET template was as close to the space of the T1 template as I could get
it using a very early prototype of the SPM96 spatial normalization procedure.

The co-ordinates obtained should be very close to those described by the
single subject T1.img template that is used. However, it is worth pointing
out that the MNI never recommended this brain as a stereotactic standard.
This is something that we at the FIL chose to do. The current official
standard for the ICBM stereotactic space is the MNI305 brain - which the T1
template brain is not. It is a well scanned normal single subject that
conforms to the space described by the 305 average. See:
