Dear MEDPHYS or SPMMERS:
We are planning to get a PET camera. The studies in our Hospital will be
50% oncology, 40% neurology, and 10% cardiology exams. We are very much
interested in doing research as well as clinical studies. Are there anyone
who can give us some comparisons, pros and cons, between GE-ADVANCE and C-
PET for wholebody and neurology applications especially for the technical
aspects as follows:
A. WHOLE BODY STUDIES and B. BRAIN STUDIES
1. Image quality and quantitation
2. Scanning time for Transmission and Emission
3. Attenuation and Scatter correction, and 3-D imaging capabilities with
accuracies
4. Count rate capabilities
5. Maintanence cost for the Transmission source
6. Issues of Injection dose especially for the FDG
7. Computer Hadware ( Why one needs array processors while the other does
not)
8. Functions of Software (Co-Registration, OS-EM, Attenuation and Scatter
correction, Patlak, etc)
9. Any other considerations
I am especially interesting in technical aspects, although it gets
complicated with price consideration. You may want to reply me personally.
Many thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Hee-Joung
