RECONCEIVING MIDWIFERY: THE NEW SOCIAL SCIENCE OF MIDWIFERY
Please join us for this exciting Conference Event featuring an
interdisciplinary panel of twenty speakers made up of social scientists,
midwives, and midwifery educators.
ALL INTERESTED PEOPLE ARE INVITED TO ATTEND
The range of presentation topics includes midwifery history, issues of
legislation and professionalisation, midwifery education, the experience
of midwifery clients, and anthropological perspectives on midwifery in
Canada. The unique format of the conference will allow time for
conference participants to engage in the discussion of each paper as it is
presented. The conference papers will appear in an edited volume to be
published by the University of Michigan Press.*
WHEN: Saturday July 17 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday July 18 from
8:30 am to 4:00 pm
WHERE: The Debates Room at Hart House on the University of Toronto
campus.*
REGISTRATION: $100. ($40. for students). Fees include breakfast and lunch
each day. You must register in advance!
