Operational Research Society: Simulation Study Group
One Day Meeting
Conceptual Modelling
Wednesday 27th October 1999, 9:30am-4:00pm
KPMG Consulting
Dorset Rise, London
(Directions from http://www.kpmg.co.uk/)
How does a simulationist decide what elements of a system are
relevant to
a simulation? In how much detail should each of these elements be
modelled? Conceptual modelling attempts to provide answers to
both these
questions. Following on from the successful Simulation Study
Group meeting
on Verification and Validation, this one day event focuses on the
process
of turning the real world into a model. Speakers from both industry
and
academia will present contemporary views on how to go about
conceptual
modelling. There will be ample time during the meeting for informal
discussion where attendees will be encouraged to participate in the
general debate.
